The investor of the Garden Residence apartments has
just completed the modernization of the newly opened Przemysłowa street, which
will be handed over at no cost to the city of Cracow. Przemysłowa street is the
first comprehensively modernized street in Zabłocie, construction work on which
was completed several days before the planned opening of the Museum of Modern
Art in the old Schindler factory on Lipowa Street.
The performed work includes the relocation of
underground installations. The former factory street was modified for
pedestrian traffic – a broad sidewalk has been built and stylish lanterns are
to be installed.
- We hope, this street – often called the „gateway
to Zabłocie” – will open the district to tourists and guests of the Museum of
Modern Art. We have declared that the modernization of Przemysłowa street will
be completed along with the opening of the museum of Lipowa street. I am happy
that despite the difficult weather conditions we have managed to keep our word.
We hope that the modernization of Przemysłowa will spur road investment work in
the long forgotten Zabłocie district, which has a chance to soon become the
most fashionable district In Cracow – Said Georgios Notopoulos of Garden
Residence.
„It is a symbol of change in Zabłocie and another
indication that cooperation between the city and private enterprises for the
benefit of Cracow is possible.” – said Tadeusz Trzmiel, deputy president of
Cracow during the opening of Przemysłowa street. He noted that the Oscar
Schindler Emalia Factory Museum had just opened nearby on Lipowa street. “This
year we also plan to open another cultural institution – the Museum of Modern
Art” – informed Tadeusz Trzmiel.
